Terre Haute, IN, October 29, 2026 —
Jacob Allen Morley, a convicted murderer from Tennessee who was serving a life sentence, has escaped from a correctional complex. Authorities are investigating whether he may be connected to a recent bank robbery at gunpoint in Deerfield, Wisconsin.
The possible connection remains under investigation. The information provided does not establish that Morley was involved in the robbery, and no further details about the case were supplied. Authorities have described Morley as dangerous.
The available information does not identify the correctional complex, say when or how Morley escaped, or describe where he may have gone. It also does not provide details about the robbery beyond its location in Deerfield and the report that it involved a gun. The name of the bank, the date of the robbery and whether anyone was injured were not provided.
No information was supplied about the agencies involved in the investigation, the evidence prompting authorities to examine a possible link, or whether any charges related to the robbery have been filed. The circumstances of Morley’s conviction were also not provided beyond the fact that he was convicted of murder and was serving a life sentence.
Further details about the escape and investigation were not included in the available account. The information confirms the escape and the existence of an inquiry into a possible connection with the Wisconsin robbery, but does not establish the outcome of that inquiry or what happened after Morley escaped.
