New calculators let local sellers compare scrap-load and wire-preparation estimates using their own weights, quoted rates and costs.
NAPLES, FL, UNITED STATES, October 19, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — SUSA Recycling Naples has introduced two online planning calculators to help households and contractors organize scrap-metal estimates before contacting the yard. Available on the company’s new website, the tools use sellers’ own weights, quoted rates and costs rather than supplying live scrap prices.
The SUSA Scrap Metal Value Calculator combines estimates for multiple materials in one load. Users enter each material’s weight and quoted rate, select the applicable units and optionally subtract the cost of the trip. The calculator supports pounds, kilograms and US short tons, with a short ton defined as 2,000 pounds.
A contractor load log on the same page provides a place to record material weights, quoted rates, estimates and actual amounts received. Users can print a worksheet or download a CSV file for their own records. Optional browser saving is also available.
The SUSA Wire Stripping Calculator compares an estimate for selling insulated wire as-is with an estimate for stripped copper after labor and preparation costs. Users enter the wire’s weight, estimated copper recovery, quoted rates, stripping time and the value of their time. Where the inputs permit, the tool also calculates break-even labor time.
No market rates or recovery percentages are prefilled. The comparison is based on the user’s assumptions; it does not identify wire types, determine a material’s grade or provide processing instructions. The page warns users not to burn insulation and to confirm safe preparation and grading with the yard.
Both resources are planning tools, not purchase offers or guarantees of payment. Final material grade, accepted weight and rate must be confirmed with the yard. The scrap-value calculator is not designed to establish an offer for a junk vehicle.
The calculators complement the website’s existing material finder, scrap-preparation information and vehicle checklist. Sellers can review these resources, describe what they have and ask about acceptance and arrangements before bringing a load or vehicle.
