Award-winning adventure travel company, Much Better Adventures launches active wildlife-first trips to immerse travelers in wild ecosystems and landscapes
NEW YORK, Oct. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Much Better Adventures, the active adventure travel company, has launched a new line of small group wildlife trips to destinations across the globe, inviting adventurous travelers to track gorillas in Rwanda, wolves in the Italian Apennines or even snow leopards in the Indian Himalaya.
The Wildlife Collection is a collection of conservation-led adventures, designed for travelers who want to engage with the beauty of the natural world and experience living, breathing habitats that still feel truly wild. Itineraries favor lesser-known locations and quieter encounters, away from the crowds at well-known wildlife hotspots. Led by naturalist guides, these trips will be immersive experiences that bring travelers closer to mosaic landscapes, keystone species and thriving ecosystems.
Trips from the Wildlife Collection don’t typically surpass more than 12 people per group and they are not intended for those who want to passively watch wildlife from the sidelines. Much Better Adventures wants travelers to hike, canoe and explore their way through wild places, creating more meaningful encounters with the natural world.
Adventure travelers will be able to experience trips ranging anywhere from 3 – 11 nights, allowing life changing wildlife encounters that fit into as little as a weekend trip. These trips will include everything from whale watching and sloth-spotting in Costa Rica to tracking Eurasian bison in the Romanian Carpathians, where the animals were reintroduced by the WWF in 2014. Accommodations will range from camping, huts, guesthouses, lodges or small hotels to locally- and independently-owned properties that enhance the wildlife experience.
“I am delighted to be working with local specialists to launch the Wildlife Collection,” said Emma Cambers, Much Better Adventures Wildlife Expansion Manager. “There is clear demand from existing and new travelers for active wildlife adventures and we’re delivering something completely new to the market with our conservation-led itineraries to lesser-known locations across the globe.”
Much Better Adventures has also developed an animal welfare policy specifically for these trips in collaboration with World Animal Protection. “World Animal Protection was happy to provide guidance to Much Better Adventures on their Animal Welfare Policy,” said Katheryn Wise, Wildlife Campaign Manager, World Animal Protection UK. “The tourism industry can play such an important role in wildlife protection, and we welcome the efforts of Much Better Adventures to be part of this movement.”
Much Better Adventures’ animal welfare policy is non-negotiable and guides will never manufacture encounters, guarantee sightings, or compromise animal welfare for the sake of an experience. Each of these trips also focuses on conservation, tying in with (and in many cases visiting) local initiatives actively working to protect the wild places where they take place.
Finally, 5% of revenue from every trip supports the purchase of community-managed land in high biodiversity habitats through their partners, World Land Trust. So far Much Better Adventures has raised £1.2M to protect the world’s wild places and the people that live in them.
